This sailing covers the whole length of New Zealand in ten nights and ends in Sydney. It leaves Auckland and heads north to the Bay of Islands, then down the North Island to Tauranga and the capital, Wellington. On the South Island it calls at Christchurch and Dunedin. It sails in late spring, when the days are long and the gardens are at their best.
The highlight comes on day eight, when the ship spends the day cruising Fiordland National Park, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Area. It enters Dusky Sound, Doubtful Sound and Milford Sound in turn, where cliffs and waterfalls drop straight into the fiords. Two days crossing the Tasman Sea bring the ship into Sydney Harbour early in the morning. The group rate includes Celebrity's Classic drinks package and basic Wi-Fi.

Ports of call
Where the ship stops.
Five calls in New Zealand, a day in Fiordland and three days at sea.
Port image: Auckland, New Zealand, 16:10
Day 1 · embarkation
Auckland, New Zealand
New Zealand's largest city is spread across a narrow isthmus between two harbours and a field of old volcanic cones. The Sky Tower rises over the waterfront, and ferries leave from the downtown piers for Waiheke Island's vineyards and beaches. The ship sails in the evening, so it is worth arriving a day or two early.
Port image: Bay of Islands, New Zealand, 16:10
Day 2 · tender port
Bay of Islands, New Zealand
A subtropical bay dotted with around 150 islands, where dolphins are often seen. The Treaty of Waitangi, New Zealand's founding document, was signed here in 1840, and the treaty grounds are open to visitors. Across the water, Russell was one of the country's earliest European settlements. The ship anchors in the bay and passengers go ashore by tender.
Port image: Tauranga, New Zealand, 16:10
Day 3
Tauranga, New Zealand
The ship docks at the foot of Mount Maunganui, a volcanic cone with a walking track to the summit and a long surf beach on the ocean side. The port is a gateway to Rotorua's geothermal parks and Māori cultural centres, and to the Hobbiton film set. Both are about an hour inland. The ship arrives at dawn, which makes a long day ashore possible.
Port image: Wellington, New Zealand, 16:10
Day 5
Wellington, New Zealand
New Zealand's compact capital wraps around a deep harbour. The red cable car climbs from Lambton Quay to the Botanic Garden and a lookout over the city. Te Papa, the national museum, is on the waterfront, and the Beehive, home of the parliament, is a short walk away. The city is also known for its coffee and its food scene.
Port image: Christchurch, New Zealand, 16:10
Day 6
Christchurch, New Zealand
The ship docks at Lyttelton, about twenty minutes from the city through the road tunnel. Christchurch has been largely rebuilt since the 2011 earthquake, and old and new sit side by side: the Cardboard Cathedral, heritage trams and punts drifting down the Avon past the Botanic Gardens. Akaroa, a harbour village with French roots on Banks Peninsula, makes another good day out.
Port image: Dunedin, New Zealand, 16:10
Day 7
Dunedin, New Zealand
Scottish settlers founded Dunedin in 1848, and the city still shows its Edinburgh roots. Its railway station, completed in 1906, is one of the most photographed buildings in the country. The ship docks at Port Chalmers, on the Otago Harbour. The Otago Peninsula runs out to Taiaroa Head, home to the world's only mainland breeding colony of royal albatross.
Port image: Sydney, Australia, 16:10
Day 11 · disembarkation
Sydney, Australia
Arriving by sea is one of the best ways to see Sydney. The ship passes through the Heads early in the morning and sails up the harbour to the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. The Rocks, Circular Quay and the Royal Botanic Garden are all close to the cruise terminal for anyone staying on after the cruise.
